Let's go over these 4 steps once more:
1
Articulate the commitment
What is the intended result? Think hard about your ultimate goal, and write it down.
2
Doing/Not Doing
What have you done to achieve the commitment? What steps should you have taken or should do next? Reflect on the actions you have or haven't done, and write it down as well.

Competing commitment
What's stopping you from actually achieveing the ultimate goal? Examine any internal voices or subconscious fears that might conflict with these goals.

Challenge your assumptions
What proof do you have that supports your competing commitment? How about evidence against it?
Question the validity of your competing commitments and courageously talk back to the voice. For example, if you fear failure, ask yourself if this fear is based on actual evidence or simply an assumption.
